How does laser cleaning work?

Laser cleaning uses a bundled beam of light to clean surfaces of such things as rust, oil or dirt. The laser beam works in several pulses to break down the molecular bonds between the substrate (e.g. metal) and the corrosion. Because there is no abrasion or friction, the underlying surface is not damaged.

1. How does laser cleaning work?
Laser cleaning uses a concentrated beam of light to remove contaminants such as dirt, oil or oxidation from surfaces. The laser's energy breaks down contaminants into small particles, which are then vacuumed off with a compressor.
2. What surfaces are suitable for laser cleaning?
Metal is the best known material cleaned with lasers, but there are other applications. Please contact us to see if your case is a good fit for laser cleaning.
3. Does the underlying material not get damaged?
Most underlying layers have a higher ablation temperature (at which the material is broken down) than the layer of contaminants. In addition, the laser does not work on reflective surfaces because it is a beam of light. This therefore makes almost all metals very suitable.
4. Can you remove rust with a laser?
Yes, very well even! We work mainly with industrial objects and machines, but if you want to have a smaller object cleaned you are of course also welcome to contact us.
5. In which locations do you provide service?
We work everywhere in the Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg). We can also provide service in our own facility.
